Aurora

Aurora was destined to rule her family's kingdom in the frozen wastelands of Velrune, but lacked the gift of cryomancy that defined the royal bloodline.

Desperate to claim the power of her heritage, she set out to find the fabled Heart of the Blizzard, a crystalline relic said to be a frozen manifestation of winter itself. Braving frigid tempests and battling ancient guardians she finally found and touched its frigid core, only for it to shatter and freeze her in a glacial prison for five centuries.

When she finally defrosted, she found herself in a changed world. Her kingdom lay in ruins and her family and subjects were long since lost to time. She, herself, was also changed: her body marked by the frost and her breath icy cold.

Now, wandering alone, Aurora wields the cryomancy she fought for with longing and regret. Though her heart aches for the home she lost, her newfound gifts drive her to carve a new legacy from the frost, to discover others who still carry her bloodline’s magic, and, perhaps, to find a place for a new kingdom: one where winter’s heart can finally beat again.
