Despite inheriting his father's estate and holding the official tile of Lord of House Ashlar, Greystone chose instead to protect others and become a shield of the realm - an unflinching paladin of the Radiant Vanguard forged in stone and oath.

Vowing to safeguard others, he swore himself to defend the House of Thalemor and their lands. He was everything a legend should be: noble, tireless, revered. But legends bleed like any man, and on the day the skies broke and ceaseless raiders assaulted the land he stood to defend, Greystone eventually fell.

He awoke in the abyss, where Sevarog, the god of death, offered a single trial: endure the scythe without breaking, and earn the right to return. Greystone stood silent and still as death carved through him, never kneeling, never yielding. At the final stroke, Sevarog relented - but upheld his promise with a curse.

Now, no wound can end him. When death comes, he rises again in a burst of golden flame. For some, he is a symbol of hope. For others, a grim reminder that duty can become a prison. Either way, Greystone marches on - because a knight’s vow does not die, even when he should.
