Narbash

A towering ogre from the lush forests of Velrune, Narbash was known for his booming laughter and thunderous drumbeats.

Recruited - rather, adopted - by a ragtag band of marauders, he insisted they were a “band” in every sense, blissfully unaware of their darker deeds. With a carved wooden drum strapped to his massive chest and mallets always in hand, Narbash’s music rallied his companions and sent foes fleeing.

Despite his comrades’ penchant for plunder, Narbash’s heart remained pure. After each raid, he quietly slipped sweet treats - candied roots and honey-glazed berries - into the hands of any children left behind, convinced that a smiling child made all the stolen trinkets worthwhile. His innocence was so genuine that even his fellow raiders hesitated to correct him, fearing they might shatter his joyful spirit.

During one disastrous raid on Thalemor, house paladins ambushed the marauders, cutting them down under a hail of arrows. As his friends fell, Narbash seized his drum and pounded a furious rhythm. The air itself seemed to hum as injuries closed and fears dissolved. His infectious spirit and catchy rhythms captivated both friend and foe. Swords were lowered, shields dropped, and within hours the battlefield transformed into a makeshift festival. By the end of three days - filled with song, drink, and dance - Narbash’s band quietly slipped away. Narbash remained, drumming and celebrating with the former enemy, a fight-turned party that echoed through the forests of Velrune long after the last drumbeat had faded.
