Yin

Desperate to defend her family’s name when debts mounted, Yin joined the mysterious Sentinels of the Veil, a ruthless collective dedicated to opening and harnessing magical rifts across Sylmara for their own gain, regardless of the cost to life. They offered her coin in exchange for her fealty and martial prowess, tasking her with the incredibly dangerous task of puncturing new holes in the Rift between worlds. Through it all, she survived and even thrived, despite a few close calls.

When illness struck her father, his dying wish summoned Yin to his bedside. Weak and shaking, he revealed to her their true heritage. Yin was a direct descendant of the ancient Koru Shinzo, honour-bound warriors who once defended Sylmara from demonic scourges. With trembling hands, he pressed into hers a relic from that time, an ancient whip enchanted with bygone magic, begging her to reconsider the course of her life.

After his passing, Yin left the Sentinels of the Veil, reclaiming her honour, ancient whip in hand. Now, each time she channels her magic through it, she feels both the weight of her lineage and the guilt of her past. Torn between the ruthless world that once provided for her family and her heritage as a protector of the innocent, she vowed to restore her family's honour, even if it means standing against the organisation she was once blindly loyal to.
