Chief Murdock commands the Vexis branch of the OCPD with an iron resolve and a keen edge, born from state-of-the-art training and decades of experience. Once a skilled smuggler running neon back-alleys, he turned himself in after a job went tragically wrong. Rehabilitated and determined to be better, he joined the police force and quickly rose through the ranks, now using his insider knowledge to hunt the very underworld he once served. His past makes him the ideal target for vengeful syndicates, and that danger only sharpens his instincts on the streets.

Even as he orchestrates city-wide crackdowns on mod-addicts, data pirates, and mercenaries, Murdock senses a deeper threat lurking beneath the headlines. He can’t shake the earworm of catchy pop anthems that seem to carry hidden messages to the masses, and the cold case of a Thermax Industries prototype cannon stolen by a slippery blue-haired thief. Every time he thinks he's found a lead on either, however, he hits a dead end, often literally.
