Once the terror of an age long forgotten, Akeron, the Demon King of Ashkarath, was the living embodiment of hunger and domination.
In the first great war between Sylmara and the void, it was Boris himself who led the charge against Akeron, channelling the planet’s primal essence to seal the Demon King deep within the Rift beyond space-time. There, in a prison of black eternity, Akeron’s world, his forces and his body were trapped for thousands of years, while his mind drifted freely - watching, learning, and endlessly hungering for souls.
From within that abyss beyond mortal reality, he glimpsed the Predecessors and their endless worlds beyond Sylmara, a multiverse of unclaimed realms and unsated appetites. Bound but unbroken, he whispered through the cracks, sowing seeds of temptation and power in mortal hearts. One of those seeds took root in a young Koru Shinzo named Renna.
Boris’s sudden death at the hands of Wukong weakened Akeron's bindings, allowing him at last, with Renna's aid at the destruction of Skyfang Shrine, to return to the mortal realm.
Free at last, Akeron emerged beneath a black sun to reclaim Sylmara, twisting Renna into his right hand and striking at her sister Yurei to destroy the last remnants of the fallen god's legacy. But his designs had grown far beyond the valley.
The Demon King no longer hungers merely for Sylmara - he hungers for the cosmos itself.
