While playing Predecessor you can come across error codes in the format of AB-0000. Those appear usually when experiencing some kind of server or connectivity problem.  Here are some most common ones and the meanings behind them:

P-1000 - a time-out error, which means a connection couldn't be established in the required time. When you see it, restart your PC and try again.</li>
<li>
P-2001 - login token invalid error. Usually fixed by restarting the game and Steam/Epic Store client.</li>
<li>
P-2003 - login to platform invalid error. It usually appears when the Steam/Epic Store is experiencing issues. </li>
<li>
P-4100 - server-side connection error. It usually appears when there are server issues.</li>
</ul>
 
When those error messages start popping up for you, it's a good idea to:
<ul>
<li>Check whether the game or platform server is experiencing any issues.</li>
<li>Check if there are any network problems in your area.</li>
<li>Try again in a few hours.</li>
<li>Verify game files.</li>
</ul>

P-2000 is an installation error, usually appearing after a re-install of the game or after downloading the update. It’s usually a symptom of some files not saving in their intended locations. 
To fix it, please try the following steps:
<ul>
<li>Verify the integrity of the <a href="https://www.predecessorgame.com/support/12605937694237/13365154681373">files</a>.</li>
<li>Freshly reinstall the game.</li>
<li>If you’re using antivirus or firewall software, please make sure that no Predecessor processes are being blocked by them.</li>
<li>Please ensure that the Easy Anti-Cheat folder is present in Predecessor’s install folder.</li>
<li>Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat. You can do so by deleting the EAC folder in the Predecessor install folder and then verifying the files. 
</li>
</ul>
The default folder location for Steam users is: 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Predecessor
The default folder location for Epic users is:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Predecessor

Error Code P-2000

If you're experiencing error P-2803, you're most likely a brand-new Steam user trying to purchase in Predecessor and failing.  This error is caused by a Steam's feature called "Limited User Accounts". You can find more info about this topic <a href="https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/71D3-35C2-AD96-AA3A">here</a>. This issue should be resolved once you spend at least 5.00 USD within the Steam Store. If you have any questions about this feature, please get in touch with <a href="https://help.steampowered.com/en/">Steam Support.</a>  If you're experiencing this error and you're not a Steam user, please open a support ticket.

Error P-2803

Predecessor in Closed Beta is currently available to play on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. If you want to gain access, please sign up <a href="https://www.predecessorgame.com/play/playstation-beta-access">here</a>. After you do so, you should get a key emailed to you in the next wave. Already signed up a while ago but didn't get your key. - Please check all the folders in your mailbox. Many community members found their emails containing keys in social or spam. - We regularly post key giveaways on our Discord, so check if there hasn't been one recently, so you can snatch one! - You can ask a server moderator or a community staff member for a key. - You can also request a key via <a href="https://www.predecessorgame.com/support/request">a support ticket</a>.  When asking for a ticket, remember to state which platform you want to play on (PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5) and in which region your PSN account is (North America or Europe). Please keep in mind that your PSN account location doesn't change after you move, so its region might be different from the one you currently living in. Best indication of it is the currency your PlayStation Store showing. If your account is Australian, choose Europe.

How I Can Get a Closed Beta Key?

As is the case with every multiplayer game on Steam, we are affected by the platform's weekly maintenance, which takes place for less than an hour every Tuesday between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. UTC. If you're experiencing connection errors in Predecessor in that timeframe, that's likely the reason - the issue should resolve itself immediately after the maintenance is concluded.

Steam Weekly Maintenance

If you're experiencing issues with your game performance, it's a great idea to include a DxDiag report with your ticket.  DxDiag is a text file that has detailed information about your computer hardware and its drivers that can help us narrow down why you might be having issues.
No sensitive data is stored in those files.
 
Follow these steps to retrieve this DxDiag report on your PC:

<li>From the Windows desktop, press the Windows and R keys to open the Run window.</li>
<li>In the "Open:" field of the Run window, type dxdiag.</li>

<li>If prompted to check if your drivers are digitally signed, click Yes.</li>

How to Retrieve DxDiag Report on my PC?

I’m trying to play Predecessor, but I’m getting a “Game requires an update” message on Steam but my game is not updating. What should I do? That can happen sometimes when the Steam Client is not automatically pushing an update on you. In order to fix it, please restart your Steam client.

What to Do When I Get "Game Needs An Update" Message?

Predecessor requires a stable internet connection. It's difficult to have a good experience with the game without one. What should you do if you continue to get error messages when you're connecting to the servers?
<ul>
<li>Check our socials to ensure that there isn't a scheduled maintenance going on or if there isn't an outage on our side.</li>
<li>Check if your platform (Steam/Epic) is not experiencing an outage.</li>
</ul>
 
If everything seems to be up and running there, here are the steps you can take to fix the problem on your side:
<ul>
<li>Make sure there isn't an internet downgrade or outage happening in your area.</li>
<li>If you have an option, switch to a wired connection.</li>
<li>Reset your router as per your Internet provider's instruction.</li>
<li>Ensure that all drivers are up to date.</li>
<li>Restart your computer to ensure there are no software conflicts.</li>
<li>Do a ping test to check the quality of your connection.</li>
</ul>

What to Do When Experiencing Connectivity Issues?

<li>A visual will help tremendously with bug identification. If you can, please include at least a screenshot, or better yet, a short video clip, preferably in a link form. </li>

<li>Does the bug appear always in the same place or under the same circumstances? Tell us!</li>
<li>Did the bug affect your game client (caused a crash or a disconnection?) If so, please include relevant game logs!</li>
