Zinx

Zinx arrived on Aresium as one of the few survivors of her colony. Her home world had been devastatingly obliterated by the same relentless force that was now pounding Aresium’s defences. Scavenging through the ruins of a refugee convoy, she was found on the brink of death by a decorated field medic, who pulled her to safety and nursed her back to health.

Determined to repay that kindness, Zinx enlisted in Aresium’s field medical corps. There, she soon discovered her unique gift; by channelling regenerative nanites through her claws and pistols, she could restore fallen bodies to the moment before their death, knitting flesh, bone, and spirit back into life. Her ability became legendary on the front lines, where squads pinned under enemy fire rose again at her agile touch, quickly earning the attention of, and an offer of employment to, Project Lazarus.

However, she quickly learned that not all wounds can be healed. During one desperate rescue, she was too late to save the one who'd saved her. The best she could do was recover the decorated medic's remains and return them to her handlers.

That failure continues to drive Zinx forward, with every life she restores a tribute to the one she could not save, and a vow that no other soul under her care will ever meet with the great god of death.
