Mourn

Mourn was once one of many treants guarding Velrune’s ancient woodlands. When a centuries-old war of sorcery and steel laid waste to his kin, his grief twisted him into a living curse. Now the last of his kind, he prowls what remains: a hollow, vine-choked grove littered with the petrified remains of his fallen brethren.

Any who wander too close find themselves ensnared by sentient vines that whisper honeyed charms, lulling their senses before plunging them into darkness. Blinded by his spell, victims stumble into brambles steeped in hatred, their sight snuffed out as Mourn’s wooden grasp closes around them.

Driven by endless sorrow and unquenchable rage, he allows no soul to leave his cursed domain. Each victim is a grim reminder that, even in death, his forest will never forgive.
