Kwang

Kwang was born among the moonlit monasteries of Sylmara, where he mastered the art of swordsmanship under the tutelage of the descendants of the ancient Koru Shinzo.

When the trickster god, Wukong, appeared before him, offering a divine gift to test Kwang’s worth, the swordsman accepted with honour and grace, not even daring to suspect the deity before him. However, the moment Kwang claimed the Heavenly Blade, Wukong grinned and, using an ability known only to the gods, Realm-Walked them both to Velrune, where he abandoned Kwang in its twisting forests and deadly crags.

In that moment of cataclysm, Kwang’s mortal spirit was scarred by the shock of divine transit, causing a fleeting echo of the trickster deity's ability to be imprinted upon his mind. Now, whenever the Heavenly Blade is cast, he can summon it back in a blink or reappear by its hilt, a lingering gift from the Monkey King.

Stranded and enraged, Kwang wanders Velrune’s alien wilds, lightning dancing upon every swing of the Heavenly Blade. Though he trains with the blade in hopes to one day use it to get home, it remains a painful reminder of the trick that stole him from his world. Driven by honour and vengeance, he hunts for the path back to Sylmara - and for the moment he can face the traitorous Wukong again, blade alight with crackling storm and retribution.
